Setup Steps

1. Choose Slack as the workspace

  1. Go to app.duckie.ai and click “Add Duckie”.
  2. Click “Choose a workspace” and select Slack
  3. An “Authorize Slack” modal will appear. Click “Continue to Slack”.

2. Add Duckie to your Slack channel

  1. In the authorization page, choose the channel you want Duckie to post in and click “Allow”.
  1. Go to Slack, type /invite @duckie in that channel.
  1. Return to app.duckie.ai, refresh the page, and click “Add Duckie” again. Under workspace, you should be able to choose that channel.

3. Configure Duckie’s response behavior

Follow Setup & Configuration instructions to configure Duckie’s response behavior.

  • If you toggle “Auto-respond” on, Duckie will reply to all messages automatically.
  • If you toggle “Auto-respond” off, Duckie will only reply to messages that are tagged with “@duckie”.

4. Connect Knowledge Sources and Agent Tools

Follow Connect Knowledge Sources and Connect Agent Tools instructions to connect Duckie to your knowledge sources and agent tools.

5. Finalize Setup

  1. Click “Create”.
  2. Duckie will start processing the knowledge sources (30 mins - 2 hours).
  3. You’ll receive a notification via email once Duckie is ready to go!

Escalation

If Duckie cannot resolve a question, it will DM the Primary contact in Slack and provide a summary of the conversation so far.

Feedback

  • For each response generated, there’s a thumbs up/down and feedback button.
  • If you are not satisfied with Duckie’s response, please provide written feedback, and Duckie will learn from it and revise its response in the future. (It works very well, so please please give Duckie as much feedback as possible!)

FAQ

How do I add Duckie to multiple channels?

  • If these agents have the same knowledge source configurations, you can duplicate the agent in the webapp, and
    • Select a new channel under “Workspace”
    • Invite Duckie to that channel via /invite @duckie
  • If the agents follow very different configurations, you will need to create a new agent instance in the webappfor each channel.

How do I edit a Duckie agent’s configuration?

You can edit the agent’s configuration in the webapp by clicking on the agent’s card.

How do I route messages in one channel to another which I want Duckie to respond to?

You can use Zapier to route messages from one channel to another very easily. Here’s a loom video on how to do this (2 min).

How do I remove Duckie from a channel?

You can run /remove @duckie in the channel, or delete the agent in the webapp.

How do I add Duckie to channels in a different workspace?

Right now, Duckie only supports one workspace at a time. You will need to create a new account in the webapp for each workspace.
